A move is a single sequential movement up the rock. Let's go bust a move or two. Matching on a hold is when you bring one hand next to the other hand on the same holds and then busting on the move. Matching feet on the foot hold is when you bring one foot, replace it to the same hold together.
I dyno is short for a dynamic movement for jump off the rock. A deadpoint is a controlled dyno where your feet maintain contact with the rock. A cross over is when you reach one hand over your other arm to grab the next hold.
A cross under is when you reach underneath your arm to grab the next hold. When grabbing as side pull, it's a good idea to use the outside edge of your opposite to maintain balance. This is called the back step.
A high step is when you bring your foot super high then rock your hips on top of it to stay in balance. A heel hook is when you bring your heel on to a ledge to help bring your hips into the wall. Rather than putting it on vertically, it's better put it on horizontally, it helps bring your hips easier.
You can find a toe hook as well. This is called the heel toe clamp. Nothing gets any better than that. A toe hook is when you use the top of your foot to hook on to a feature. It is commonly used on steeper routes to help keep your body into the wall.
A knee bar is when have your foot the knee opposing against two different features. Nice for a day’s rest. A stem is where your hands and feet are pushing against two opposing features. A drop knee is an over exaggerated back step. You turn your knee to the wall and then drop it like to the top. Traversing is horizontal movement across the wall.
