What I am going to do right now is I am going to work on trying to explain eight notes and swinging eight notes with you guys. So by the way, do not worry about the topic up here. It says enharmonic, that is what we started on today’s show. Right now, we are working on swing eight notes. Okay, so here is the piece of music, let me do this in 6/8.
Okay, five lines treble cleft so let us put it in 4/4. Now, if I am saying swing eight notes, let me go like this. Now remember how you write down eight notes. So the way that this works is that if you were to swing this – let me get a metronome – let me take this piece of measure and I will do that 115 beats per minute.
Now, those were straight eight notes. They were straight, they were not swinging. The way that swinging eight notes works is that you are actually going to face them off of this figure. So let us bring this up guys. Let me make five lines. There is a treble clef and five lines. Now, if I were to make an eight note and I wanted it to swing, it is really going to be based of off your triplet figure. And remember what your triplet is. It is triplet. The way that swinging eight notes are sung or the way that they are felt is you would actually count it as this note on the triplet is actually going to be your end on your swinging eight note. We have triplet, triplet, let us take out to this middle note and now instead of triplet, triplet, triplet, triple, we have this so let us take out that middle note. Now, that is our swinging eight notes. So before, what we had as one, and two and three, and four, if you wanted those eight notes to swing, now you are going to be singing it like this.
So does anyone not understand how I made those eight notes swinging? So here is your metronome. Let us do straight eight notes guys and if anyone does not understand it, then just Skype call me right now and I will walk us to singing 6/8 notes together. I will walk you through swinging eight notes right now if you will Skype me and just like double check it. But if there is no question, let me just continue with this.
So, there is your eight notes triplets and how they differentiated the feel from an eight note triplet to a normal straight eight note. So we just worked on two things. We worked on swinging eights and then down here, we were doing what they refer to as just straight eights. So swing in eights. All right, so let me stop this recording and there you have it.
