Michael Callahan: Hi, this is Michael Callahan doctor file finder and welcome back to our special Butterscotch.com ten parts series on understanding your router. This is the final part of our series that here we are going to talk briefly about getting statuses information on your router, every router has some area in its set up or you can get the current status.
So here in the link this router, I'm on the status tab under router see here it shows me the exact firmware version that I have day for that four more version, so I can now exactly, when I need a firmware version update or if there is a problem with particular version I can check and the if I had that version and shows me the exact date time but make address, type of router, domain name is refering to the domain name of my internet service provider, which in this case is Comcast.
It shows that I'm using automatic configuration DHCP, shows the IP address once again this is the IP address from Comcast. The DHCP release and we call from earlier episode that DHCP automatically assigns IP addresses to devices in the network, if you click release you release all those and then they reassigned and you - click DHCP renew to renew all of the DHCP settings.
Here on local it shows the DHCP is enabled shows the address of the router, the Mac address, the end IP address is 149 and then under wireless it shows that the Mac address is here, the SSID is CALLANET, DHCP is on, use channel 6 and I have encryption enabled. So this is the place where you can go and get all of the basic information you need about your router. This concludes our ten part series and understanding the router and that's all the rest to it.
