I am sure many of you are familiar with Steven Cobb., seven habits of highly effective people. The second habit is, begin with the end in mind. But I am talking about here are goal, intentions, outcomes; I will be going to tell you what I expect to give you tonight. What my intention is. You will be going to get debit tonight but what I like you to do is just let it go, forget about the data. The data is not important. The important is I want to give you an impression of what enrich learning is all about. I called it enrich learning, I think that sounds a little better than accelerated learning. I want you to give you an impression on what is about; I want to convey to you my passion. I want to ignite a spark on you so you understand what this whole field is all about because when you walk out here of here tonight you will going to know more about this subject than virtually everybody else out there. You will be going to know a lot about this and hopefully it will going to change the way you look at learning, not education that is a little different.
Learning, we all learn every single day we learn. We get new information in whether we accept it or not is a choice and there are ways that you can approach this subject, approach a teaching, approach a CD, Video, Television program. If it is good and you want to learn it, there is certain things you can do to make sure you get it better. So it integrates more deeply.
Let us talk about goals for a second. You know when you make a decision or want to do a goal, you want to make a goal, set a goal, there are two ways of looking at it. One is you want to move away from pain and the other thing is may want to move towards pleasure. It we look at it in the other way. Perhaps you are in a particular state right now, perhaps it is a relationship that you are not comfortable with or a job you are not comfortable with, whatever it is, this is the stature end. You want to get out of the state. So, what you do is you decide to move and I going to go that direction, so I am moving away from this bad state. I am moving away, all I feels a little better. Okay, I can handle that, that all for I went.
Now, that is why I am in this bad state and I say instead of moving away from this, I will go to move towards something. I establish a goal that is my goal over there that is the direction I want to go. I will go to move towards that goal, I will be going to keep moving towards that goal. I am not going to be happy until I get there. Now, I am here. See the difference? It is important to move towards something, you can incorporate part of what you want to move away from, that is fine but do not make that so motivation for change.
