Hello, I am Mark Erickson and welcome to my tech tutorial series infinite solutions.
Today I am going to show you how to unlock a hidden feature in a common Windows game, Minesweeper. Everyone's wasted a few hours clicking and fragging these little squares and not many people know of a hidden history included by Microsoft in the Windows XP version of the game.
I am going to show you how to unlock the advanced wraparound mode. Here is how you do to, first reset your scores, next play through the game in all three difficulty settings, Beginner, Intermediate and Expert. When prompted to enter your name each time you must write WRAPFIELD, there I have done it. Now when you go to click the smiley to reset the board, right click, you'll see the smiley turns red and it's now angry. This indicates you are in the advanced wraparound mode, the difference is at the edges of the screen the score adjacent bomb numbers refer not only to the boarding squares on the interior and in the opposite side as well. Corner squares refer to the interior adjacent squares, the opposite edge face squares and the opposite corner squares as well. This makes the game much more challenging as the size of the open numberless area decreases dramatically.
If this proves too frustrating for you and you want regular Minesweeper back, simply reset your scores again. You'll notice the smiley turns back to yellow and again you are in the regular game mode. I hope this tutorial has been interesting, I am Mark Erickson and this is infinite solutions.
