Speaker: I am here with John McGregor from McGregor Vineyard Winery and he has a bottle of.
John McGregor: It's Rkatsiteli-Sereksiya from 2006 and we have been growing our Rkatsiteli and Sereksiya. This is actually Sereksiya Rose. We have been growing since 1980 and we use to produce them separately. Now we put them together.
Speaker: What was like thet happy day that you decided, hey, I will put batch A in ith batch B and see how it tastes together?.
John McGregor: That was my father's doing.
Speaker: Yeah.
John McGregor: And really he just follows the French approach that usually a blend is, is the much nicer thing than easily pointed on.
Speaker: And then, so how many cases do you produce?
John McGregor: It varies enormously, depending on the winters.
Speaker: Okay.
John McGregor: But this year it was about, probably about 200 cases.
Speaker: Yeah. For the Rkatsiteli, what kind of like soil or growing conditions -- it's a Ukrainian grape, right?
John McGregor: Yeah, from Georgia. One of the most widely planted grapes in the world actually. Our soils are very acidic, plain loams, pretty good kneaded soil they're actually and they seem to do very well in that soil.
Speaker: And they like our weather and stuff?
John McGregor: I must say it's a little too like spring --
Speaker: Okay. Did they bloom early. Do they bud early and harvest early?
John McGregor: No, no, they are very average typical growing grapes to be present in this region.
Speaker: So what time would you harvest?
John McGregor: September, mid September, yeah.
Speaker: Alright, thank you very much.
John McGregor: Thanks.
