Just about every job you are going to do around the house whether it is inside or out almost always involves measuring. You might have to cut a piece of plywood, measure how big a deck is going to be. You are going to put some floor tile down. Whatever it is you need to figure out how much material you will need. Well, for years the standby has been of course the tape measure. This will work anywhere from 10 feet to 30 feet and for the longer measurements, you may have to get a tape roll that goes up to 50 or even a hundred feet. Now, the trouble is sometimes when you measure you need a helper to hold the tape. What if I told you that you could actually have a tool like this and do it all yourself and better yet, it automatically does all the math if you are going to do area and even volume.
This thing works using ultrasonic sound waves. It is no different in a way a bat is able to capture insects when it flies around in the sky at night. The ultrasonic sound waves are generated inside this tube and then when they bounce off the object you are measuring, they come back and this cone captures it. The other component of this tool is a small little hole here where a little laser light is generated and all the laser does is allow you to aim the tool. The actual measurement is taken from the bottom of the unit. And what I have done is I have extended the tape measure out and it says 6 feet 6 inches to the concrete wall. Watch this. If you look at the display, it says 6 foot 6 inches.
If you are a tool freak like I am, this is a must-have. This is a really cool electronic tool, measures accurately and quickly. One person does the job. Remember, it does area. In other words you can quickly do the calculation on the tool for how many square feet of tower, hard work for you are going to have. It will even do the volume of a room. So it tells you how many cubic feet of area you might have for your furnish.
Anyway, get one today, they are affordable. I am Tim Carter, Ask the Builder.
