Hi, this is a quick video from mat4.com, just to show you how to update your ping list in Word Press. Because word Press has a really neat feature, where it will ping a whole list of RSS sites or directories where you, or when you add any post to your blog. So it is a good way of letting the world knows that you have added a new post and potentially getting some traffic. Okay so, all these videos go on mat4.com videos, what we actually need here is go to mat7.com and grab the zip file here, ping list Word Press blog, just download that to your hard drive, unzip it, and open it up and you will have a file that looks like this, and basically just copy the whole list of bills here, then go to your blog, go to options writing and scroll down to the bottom, where you have this ping list here, the default that comes with Word Press is just ping-o-matic, I believe it is. So, highlight the whole lot, whatever you have got in there, and just paste, which is control+v or right click and paste, and then click on update.
While you are n here, I would also recommend changing the size of the blog post box, the default is 10, which gives you quite a small box to write in when you are doing a post and then we have minus 20 or 25, something like that, makes it a bit bigger. So, simply click on update options and that will update it. So you have a longer list of sites that you will ping, although your blog will ping automatically when you make a post, very useful, okay?
