Using Your Textbook to Study

Male: How do I use my textbook to study? Amanda Medders: Well the obvious answer is read it. Many students don’t open up their textbook, maybe they don’t even know where it is but the textbook is a resource that should be use. As we mentioned with the notes it’s a great resource to go back to if you have any gaps and you need to fill in your notes or clarify anything. It’s also a great resource to help test yourself as the test gets closer. There’s usually questions at the end of each section and a large review at the end of each chapter. You can use to that to help prepare and make sure that you understand each concept. If you own the book, if you’re in college or in a private school you probably do you can actually highlight right in your book to help you get the main concepts. If you don’t own your book then you can take each paragraph and summarize it in one sentence to make some notes that you can look back on later on.
