Hello, my name is Brian Mitchell and I am going to present to you here in a video, more of a slide show really, the general theory of vitamin C and heart disease as proposed by Dr. Linus Pauling and Dr. Mathias Rath. Before I get started, I would like to mention just a couple of things to give these gentlemen and their work the credibility that it deserves.
First of all, these two were issued in patent No. 5278189 for the natural reversal of heart disease. And, if you are not familiar with Dr, Linus Pauling, he is the only man in history to receive two unshared noble prizes. People in the past have received more than one, but they always been shared with someone else and, the only man in history to receive two unshared noble prices.
In 1990, Dr. Linus Pauling and Dr. Mathias Rath proposed that the primary cause of heart disease was essentially a chronic lack of vitamin C. The main line of evidence for this concept was the fact that heart plaques have been found only in those animals that no longer produced their own vitamin C. These animals are relatively few in number, they include humans and guinea pigs, and gorillas, but 99.9% of other animals in nature, produce their own vitamin C and do not develop plaques in their coronary arteries.
Essentially, the Pauling-Rath Theory of Heart Disease makes a connection between vitamin C collagen and cholesterol, which I am going to explain further in this video.
As you can see here, this is my representation of the LDL cholesterol, most people are familiar with. LDL stands for Low Density Lipoprotein. Lipoprotein is for the lipid center and the protein shell. Cholesterol actually is an alcohol, not a lipid, but that is a bit of a technically at this point. Lipoprotein is with this molecule here or this globule represents.
Cholesterol, as you know, especially LDL cholesterol has been perceived as the principle culprit of heart disease and heart attacks for decades now. And, honestly the theory has made a fair amount of sense. For years, there was no question that were high concentration to this cholesterol in heart plaques. And, as a result for years now, we have been basically been told what to eat, how to live, and what kind of medications to take. All that control, this one little lipoprotein. And, inspite of the popularity cholesterol is held in Western medicine as the true cause of heart disease. There is always been some lingering questions about the cholesterol-heart disease connection. One of these questions was, the simple fact that your body makes its own cholesterol. In fact, 3-5 times more than you would or ever could want to eat from your diet, your body makes it for itself and controlling cholesterol through diet is sort of pointless, really for every cholesterol molecule you avoid in your diet. If your body needs it and its biofeedback system, if it needs it, it is going to make it, whether or not you eat it. Your body makes its own cholesterol, because it is vitally important for the growth and repair of new tissue. It is a precursor for your testosterone and your estrogen. It is a vital cellular membrane component, regulating your cell wall permeability. Basically, it is very important to us and it is hard to believe that something so good could be bad. And, in final it is also the issue of cholesterol being inconsistent indicator of heart attack risk. Some people with very low cholesterol levels are still having heart attacks. Some people with very high levels were not having heart attack issues at all. And, this just was not making sense, it was inconsistent. And, now finally thanks to Dr. Pauling and Rath, we have a thorough explanation.
Please continue now to the second video in this series, on the Linus Pauling-Mathias Rath, General Theory of Heart Disease.
