A video surfaced Wednesday morning that apparently shows US soldiers urinating on corpses. A warning -- the video could be disturbing.
The video’s description says the men are from Scout Sniper Team 4 with the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines from Camp Le June in North Carolina, though there has been no official confirmation of that information.
The audio quality is poor, but in the video, one man is heard saying, “Golden, like a shower” and another says “Have a Great day, buddy”.
The Huffington Post reached out to the Pentagon for comment. In an email, Capt. Gregory A. Wolf of the US Marine Corps. said...
“While we have not yet verified the origin or authenticity of this video, the actions portrayed are not consistent with our core values and are not indicative of the character of the Marines in our Corps. This matter will be fully investigated.”
The Telegraph notes...
“Under the Geneva Conventions, the international treaty that lays out the rules of war, bodies of enemy soldiers must be ‘honourably interred, if possible according to the rites of the religion to which they belonged.’”
