August 3rd, 2008 just about 2:15 in the afternoon, I am looking to now Dundas Peak just outside Hamilton, Ontario. Indeed here a view of downtown Hamilton and the Niagara Excarpment surrounding it. We have come up from Port Dover today where we have a lovely bed and breakfast getaway at Bed and Breakfast called Clonmel Estate B & B and I wanted to show my European guest right now. Our mountain chain here, the Niagara Excarpment obviously. This is the river valley actually that goes back to Tews falls and Webster's falls. I think it is called the Spencer Gorge. Train is coming right here in the distance as you can see.
I don't know if you can see. That's just approaching the crossing over the road there. It's been very, very interesting showing our various topographical features of truly European visitors, another -- let's show you train as it comes. So this is a Via Rail train. Via Rail is Canada’s National Train Service, passenger train service and this train is probably coming from Western Ontario, London, possibly going to Toronto and another great view, of course, the Dundas Valley and we are going to start head back now. Let me show you the other side of the Gorge actually. There is actually -- here there is a little wall as you can see.
Not a lot of protection on this side here and I am little afraid of heights. There is a little bit of wind as well, so I am not sure if you actually are going to hear the wind but this is part of the Limestone Escarpments that goes all the way from outside of Rochester, New York State, pass Niagara Falls, up towards island, anything that comes around on the other side towards the Wisconsin and Illinois.
It’s a very natural area right here, about 20 minute long from the parking spots.
