Hello, this is Paul with onlinelessonvideos.com. Today, we’re going to cover two subjects, the first being the melody, Amazing Grace. First we’ll talk about the fingerings for the left hand and then we’ll get into the bowing. After that, we’ll discuss Vibrato Technique, practice exercises and application thereof. Let’s get started.
Now with my particular rendition of Amazing Grace, we will be in three-four time, three beats to a measure, quarter note gets the beat, and then it will be a quarter pickup into the downbeat which will be the open D-string played like so:

I should also mention that will be in the key of G major which has one sharp. Let’s get started. The first note is an open D-string, which is a quarter note. The next note that you play is with the third finger on the D-string, which is a half note.

So let’s play the first two notes, pick up note. [Demonstration] After that we proceed to the A string with the first finger. [Demonstration] From there, we cross over to the D-string and use the fourth and third fingers. Let me show that to you again. Third finger, first finger on the A-string, cross over, then proceed back to the first finger. Let’s play that entire segment from the beginning.
