Visit Cafe Med in Hollywood, California

My name is Rosalind Read and I’m the Gallery Director here at the Los Angeles Morrison Hotel Gallery on Sunset Boulevard. Morrison Hotel was founded in 2001 by Peter Blachley, Richard Horowitz and Henry Diltz. And Henry Diltz is a family photographer of Morrison Hotel. So it started by turning his web around the country and eventually they decided to settle in the gallery in Soho in New York. Capturing music photography specifically captures an era a time and energy and an artistic concept that no more landscapes and that kind of thing don’t even capture. The photographer is going in all their friends and just kind of snapping these shots that really become iconic like the man in New York City giving the peace sign in front of the Statue of Liberty photograph. It’s a historical narrative basically of music and it’s digging into the archives of music that essentially has been forgotten in our generation. And each musician is so different in each type of music photograph featured here is very different as well. So it’s definitely something for everybody that will touch everybody.
