Visit Historic Yazd in Iran

Hi, I'm Naomi and I'm very excited to show you The World’s Greatest Attractions. Few cities can claim to be over 3,000 years old, but Yazd, Iran can. This remarkable city has existed since the Median Empire. One of the amazing features of the city is the traditional Persian architecture of many buildings. The mosques are magnificently tiled, and nearly every building is made of adobe. Because of the desert climate, Yazd's architecture is unique to this one place. The graceful and unusual Amir Chakmak Mosque dates back to Iran's medieval era. Yazd is also one of the most significant cities for practitioners of Zoroastrianism. The Yazdi deal with the high desert temperatures by creating wind tunnels for their buildings. Besides the architecture, Yazd is famous for its hand-crafted textiles and delicious confectioneries.
