One of the northern most viniculture areas of the Europe as such numerous wine shops can be found in a town whose charms include typical check souvenir shops mingling with Baroque style facades. Château Melnick was founded at the end of the 10th century. Here you can see the wine cellar and taste Melnick wines that have a long tradition of growing in this area. Owned once again by Lobkowicz family, the Chateau played a significant role in Czech history. Tourists guide the visitor through the sumptuous rooms that are constantly under going a restoration process. Under Emperor Charles 4th, Melnick became a royal city. The most conspicuous objects here include 17th century Baroque furniture and magnificent inlaid cabinets. Through the windows are romantic vistas of the town of Melnick.
