Visit Orchha in Madhya Pradesh, India

There’s a language sense of beauty about the small town of Orchha with this picture postcard temples lay in the banks of the river Bewa and it’s imposing 16th century palace overlooking the quaint village and marketplace. Even the grandeur of its buildings, there’s no surprise that Orchha was once a rich price fought over by generations of invaders. These days its former wealth has disappeared and the town is sinking to grinding poverty stripping of scarcity. The only time that Orchha seems to come to life is at night when locals, pilgrims and tourist alike make their way to the Ram Raja Temple for the evening ceremony dedicated to Rama and the village square is filled with venders offering the solvents of west. It is then when you get the most plating of feelings of what Orchha must have been like at the height of its prosperity. We hope that one day we have to wake itself from its slumber and return to its former glories.
