When you say South Lamar everybody knows you are talking about Austin Texas. This road South Lamar right here. In my father days this was called Fredericksburg Road. If you will turn left right here, you went to Fredericksburg but if you turn right towards Austin downtown you just keep on following that and then it became the other side of downtown became the Dallas highway.
We are right here at the Broken Spoke 3201 South Lamar Austin Texas. It looks just like a home supposed to look like. But when they come there are made it because it's kind of like a step back into time, because I have built this place in 1964 when I built it to look like the 40s and the 50s and the era that I grew up, thought of it will be nice to save a picture of all the people and I could, that I played here, all that have been here. We met people like Willie Nelson. We have had so many people come out here they are super stars, like Client Eastwood, Robert Duvall, they always have a break time, they always send me memorabilia, complement me and thanking me for having a place like the Broken Spoke. When they leave out at night, they shake my hand and they say God bless you and that touches my heart they say God bless you and whatever you do don’t change nothing.
We are out here on South Lamar this county intersection of blue body lane in South Lamor and we are out here at Artz Rib House. We got the big sound Artz Rib House. We got a loud music not only do they have good barbecue they got good loud music right here at Artz Rib House. They got some good barbeque beats they got some salted. They have got all the steps that goes along with potato salad and beans. So we are going to go over there and see if we can get us a little plate.
Speaker: These are the ribs baby back ribs pork, they are porn in which our top salad such as garlic.
This is sampling we are doing. Look here, look at all the meat you get in really here, really good, good stuff. When I see the flowers, I knew I had to get me some of this. Good onion pickles, slice of bread, you bread -- you need to go to town, go to town and eat good ribs. It is right here on. South Lamor Artz Rib House.
Look the sign king of the Mexican food Al Rancho, Mexican rancho right here on south Lamor, I will tell you what Mack Martin he literally started his business right down town pushing an old cart down Congress Avenue and that's how he got it started when he was very young. Look at this huge door right here, you know you are going to Mexican food restaurant, this come in and this one I like. The lighting up here and you have got the poster on the wall up here, the archway, you have got the people right here to greet you. These are one who are going to see at you these are people who are take care of you and then we come of one of our favorite part you come to the bar area. Everybody loves the bar area.
Now you all know and I hope you are having fun out here. And don't because you are on TV.
Speaker2: We have camaraderie, regulars who come up to the bar, where we have got about this is our chairs bar. We start 10 or 12 we come up here last week. We look forward to seeing each other and places and these guys are talking about baseball and women.
Speaker 3: I have been coming here since it was built here and I graduated with Matt Granger and we like coming here, maybe got good appetite. We have a lot of fun here at maybe ten, we know a lot of people around. I have been coming here for about 23 years now. That’s good. The bar here are outstanding. One of the friends, not come here plus the camaraderie, a lot of people come in here, a lot of the times you will see just betting.
