Palm Springs maybe known for its funky modernized architectures, spelling golf courses and see a windmill farms, but it’s also a great place to spend the weekend especially during the coolly winter months. Hi, I’m Veronica Hill of California travel tips here in beautiful Palm Springs, California. Look it a 118 miles east of west Angeles. This beautiful desert aliases makes a charming weekend escape. A few of my favorite Palm Springs attractions are the famous Palm Springs Tram was rising 8500 feet above Mount San Jacinto. The desert adventures jeep tour which takes you into the California desert and along the San Andreas Fault and that educational Living Desert Zoo in Botanical Gardens where you can get a close up look at native desert plants and desert animals. If you have the kids along, don’t miss the Cabazon Dinosaurs near Palm Springs. This camping1960s landmark was designed by architect Claude Bell through around the Wheel Inn Café up Interstate 10. If you’re looking to stay overnight, Palm Springs Hotels such as Desert Riviera Hotel and Horizon Hotel cater to the swanky crowd looking for a bid of retro sheik. Palm Springs Resorts like Rancho Las Palmas and the Desert Springs Marriott are known for their great pools, golf courses and spas. You can even stay overnight at Frank Sinatra’s former Twin Palms Estate or the former Honeymoon Hideaway of Elvis Presley. By night, you’ll find some fun Palm Springs entertainment at the Palm Springs Follies when over 55 casts of Vaudeville entertainers pay homage to route 66 in a musical review. Before you leave, don’t forget to stop at the Shield’s Date Farm in India where you can stock up Medjool dates, moist staying in that bread or sample one of their famous creamy baked shakes. Palm Springs’ weather varies from the 70s and winter and spring to over 110 degrees during the summer months. So be sure you packed accordingly. Even during peak season, you should bring a jacket. Evening temperatures are often deep into the 40s.
