We are going to visit the Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and this started in 1874. These are all famous Chinese pharmacologists from 1100 AD, 1200 AD.
His name is Sun Simiao, the medicine king, AD 581-682, a famous pharmacologist of the Tang Dynasty. I love what he wrote, "Precious Ancillary Prescriptions". His motto was, "Refrain from Cheating". I wish more business people would have that motto.
I really like this one, the Methods of Concoction, how they concoct these medicines by water, etcetera, etcetera. But I think my favorite is, where you could stir-fry your medicine.
So, you take a donkey hide gelatin for your circulation in the winter, and they still do that. Some of the items that they use in traditional Chinese medicine is the oil of a fur seal, bones of a leopard, and the belly of an eagle. Or you can always use a frog to affect clearing damp heat, resolving swelling and toxin.
A seahorse was good for your kidneys. All I know is I still see monkey on the menu in China.
This is the herb room. So, these are all professional pharmacists still. Bring your prescription from your doctor here, they fill it with your traditional Chinese medicine, give you a packet, and off you go.
And up in the front area, if you don't just want medicine but something for general health, herbs, for whatever ails you, you buy your absolutely life preserving Chinese traditional medicine, instead of going to Esco, Walgreens, Costco, or Sam's Club.
Bird's nest. This is still a very, very, very, very, imposing place, let alone it be 1870s. If you come here, make sure you go into this.
