The Pyramids of Giza have inspired countless theories regarding their dimensions and about their construction in general. Located on an area of 2000 square meters they are one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Mycerinus is the smallest pyramid, Chephren is about 446 feet high and the great pyramid of Cheops stands at 450 feet. Visitors can reenact scenes from Egyptian history by riding a camel with the pyramids as a backdrop. The pyramids have captured the imaginations of people the world over bringing them to Giza in masses.
Saqqara is a royal necropolis. It’s the funerary complex of Zoser the third dynasty. It’s been said that the necropolis surrounds the royal tombs in a kind of a mock palace so that the king’s spirit could pursue his life in the other world.
There is a great deal of history curve into the walls in the various subterranean tombs. Early Egyptians are renowned for commemorating all aspects of their lives in the way of engraving hieroglyphics on walls, tombs and monuments. Much of what is known about Egyptians history can be attributed to the various interpretations of these inscriptions.
The Obelisks of Egypt defy logic. They are made of solid granite which is a very hard stone. It’s easy to understand how large limestone buildings could have been constructed. Since it’s a much softer stone but how this red granite structures were really built thousands of years ago continues to be a mystery. Stretching for three miles about a mile from Aswan are the old granite quarries. We came to try to find answers to how the great granite Obelisks was curved and the good clue is in Obelisks here that was never completely excavated.
Located near the temple of Luxor, Karnak was one of the greatest places of worship in all of history. The oldest of the temple is dedicated to Amun his wife Mut and their son Khonsu the moon deity. Since the Arab conquest it is been known as Al Karnak IV. Two intact Obelisks remain at Karnak those have thought Moses I and of Hatapschout. They are made of solid red as one granite and/or intricately carved with dedications to the God Amun Ra.
