Visit the Town of La Rochelle in France
Hi! I'm Naomi and I'm very excited to show you the world's greatest attractions.
La Rochelle is a French port town with a fascinating history and beautiful locale. Long
before La Rochelle was built, the area was Gaelic territory before falling to Roman
control. The actual town was established in the 1900s and soon became an important
trading port.
The town traded between French and English control several times in the Middle Ages.
During World War 2, the town was under German control and a main staging area for
submarines. Both the medieval buildings and the German U-boat hangar can be seen by
visitors today. History aside, modern La Rochelle is a charming sea side town with many
interesting attractions.
