Should I visit the shelter alone first to adopt a cat?
Visiting the shelter alone for the first visit is probably a fine idea. Again, you’re probably
on sort of a scouting mission at this point. You have come to the decision that you want
to add a cat to your family and that is wonderful but you are really now are trying to see
in your community what animals are available, what shelters work best with you, whether
you think you were going to go with the rescue group. So I will recommend making a
few visits on your own to a couple of organizations in your area. Introducing yourself,
talking to them a little bit about your background and your family and what you feel. You
maybe wanting to add to your family and letting them sort of guide you in just beginning
the process of yourself into the community and to the cats.
