This is very simple technique that you can apply when you wake up in the morning or you will get to the office or to the place where you work or, you have a certain set of possibilities for the day, right?
You will get the feeling that you are achieving much more if you focus on what is the most important. What is really the thing that you could make or do today on what could you focus today that is going to make a huge difference by the end of day? if it is done, if it is achieved.
When very often you are going to engage into life into a day and start focus on something which are not really that important, right? (Laughs) You might simply start doing it because it is the easiest thing to do. Sometimes at work, it means checking emails and simply starting to surf the net, rather than being a little more productive than that.
So, what you can do is very simple. When you start the day, you can take a white page, you write down the options for the day. You write down the possibilities that you have. Everything, you write maybe 5 to 10 things you can focus on for that day. And then, what you are going to do is simply choose or select which one is the most important.
And, once you know which one is the most important, then you focus on that one for the day. It is that simple.
Now, how often do you do that? Try to check really, how often do actually focus on what is the most important thing for the day?
Sometimes, you work from home right? And, when you are at home and you might start doing things which are totally irrelevant with the productive in the day, you might start calling a friend or do something which is totally deviating your hour. Your energy and not giving you what you want at the end of the day.
So, focus on what matters most. If you could change one thing between now and next week, what would be listed, okay?
If you know that there is an action path, that there is direction you can take which is going to make big difference and focus on that first. And, if you do that consistently, you will realized that your level of performance, your effectiveness in life generate increases. And goes from 60-70% or 80-90 or 100%, it goes very fast. All you have to do is consistently decide to focus on what matters most.
And the reason why sometimes people do not focus on what matters most or what is most important is because it is a bit more challenging or sometimes you have to take some risks. Sometimes you have to make some calls which you do not know or ready how to handle. So , you are not 100% prepare to make them.
Sometimes for instance when you go, looking for the new job for instance, and your profession, this request to yourself up there so, it is much easier to actually withdraw within the limits of what you already know. And, not anything goes risks. Lots of little step beyond your comfort zone.
So, my advice for this video is if right now, you feel that you are not focusing on what is the most important, what is really important for you to focus on, start focusing on it first. Identify exactly what this is. What is the thing you have to focus on that can make a big difference in you life, by the end of the day or by the end of the week or by the end of the month, it might project. Something you have in mind and you know that this is going to be the thing which is going to make a big difference in your life.
So, identify first. What it is and then start focusing on it. Is it enough to focus on it for one day or for one week? Well, it depends of course on the size of the project. I mean, there are lots of professional projects we can engage into that when require, but your consistency and focus in just one day or even a month, right?
Typically for instance, in terms of building a new product for instance so and you could apply or writing a report or engaging into a new marketing strategy, all these things most of the time is required focus, determination and consistency in follow up, right?
It is not enough to think just one step. You have to actually keep on doing that, (Laughs) what was you really need to work on the period of time so that you get results at the end, okay.
I hope this make sense. Remember this one, focus on top priority. If you do not know what this is, write your options down and after that, you will have a very clear picture of which one is the most important.
