If you replace the belt on the TDI engine, and do not lock the cam with the proper tool (not expensive, I made mine with $5 in angle iron) then you run a very big risk of having valves hit pistons. The valve/piston clearance in a diesel is very, very slight. Your method has destroyed engines in past. Your tool, while well meaning and fine for VW's gasoline powered engines, is not sufficient for the 1.9 TDI
