AJ Vickery: Well, one of the things we’re going to take a look at today again is tablets for the computer. And again, very important tool especially for artists and designers in graphics design. And if you have kids or young people in your family or even young people in your business that want to get into graphics design, this is actually probably going to be your starting level Wacom Tablet. It’s from Wacom, it’s called the Bamboo.
Lindsay Smith: Even if you are not a graphic designer, it’s a great way to edit digital pictures or interact with your computer on a more natural level because it comes with a pen and a mouse.
AJ Vickery: Absolutely and to just give you an example, that’s what we’ve done is we’ve taken a picture of a house. Is that your place there?
Lindsay Smith: Yeah, you know I’ve been styling lately. I’ve been saving up for my dream house. I’m going to sell it and flip it.
AJ Vickery: You’re earning, earning the big bucks, right. And so the idea here is that if you are a real estate agent or you own a real estate agency, or even if you’re someone that’s selling your property, you can lock that. You’re going to go out and you’re going to take a picture on the nicest day possible. Big sunny day, and that’s your stuff because you only have one chance to show a potential buyer what they’re getting into, but you can see here on this particular image, we’ve got a lot of different yellowy spots in the grass. And what I’m going to do is I’m going to go into those. I’m going to use the clone tool.
Again, this is all about interacting with the tablet. You know the user is using a mouse over a pen, you know a lot of people naturally feel that ergonomic desire to go into using a pen and you could see I can just do it here. I can get rid of all those yellow spots simply by drawing in green and you know that just makes it—
Lindsay Smith: It’s so pretty.
AJ Vickery: That makes that lawn less yellow and much more green and it’s not lying because it was green last year.
Lindsay Smith: Yeah.
AJ Vickery: It would be green next year when you own this house, but the idea again is about the Wacom tablet. This is a great unit for your entry level for getting into it.
Lindsay Smith: Basically, how this works is the pen that actually has 512 pressure points. So, it works the same way as a regular pen, or pencil on paper where the harder you press, the more the ink absorbs into it. Well, it’s kind of stimulating that or it’s stimulating that same experience using this pen on the tablet. So, if you press harder, you’re going to get a deeper impression on there. It’s also an eight and half inch screen and as well it’s a—the pixilation on it is about I think 2450 pixels across. So, it’s pretty good in terms of size.
AJ Vickery: Absolutely, you know like I say, great way to interact with the computer. I think the retail price on this is about 200 bucks, so again we’ve looked at ones that are $2,000.00 and we’ve looked at ones that are $400.00, $500.00, $600.00. I think designers prefer to have a bigger pad so that they have a bigger workspace to work with. But you know at eight and a half inches at 199 bucks to get started is a great deal.
Male: You think you can put this tablet to use? Well, you should also check this out.
