Walking Sprinkler Improvement over Conventional Sprinkler
Hi! I’m Bob Schmidt with Home Remodel Workshop. It was a hot summer day, I was working up on a second floor. I walked there to get a breath air out the window, I looked down to the front yard, and I saw something creeping across the front yard. Give me a couple of minutes, I’ll tell what I saw.
What I saw or walking across the yard was this. They call it the walking sprinkler. Maybe this is known to those of you who have a green thumb but I have never seen anything like it. And you know, just the tractor appearance of it caught my eye to begin with but then when I noticed that it was moving, I was very surprised. I had to go down and check it out.
I did a quick interview with my homeowner and she was on her way out to the car and basically what I got is she had purchased this thing three years ago, and that it worked perfectly fine for that they’ve never had an issue with it. So I came back and I Google it online and sure enough they are still available, and they work about the way she describe it. It says it drags up the 200 foot of hose, it shoots up the 55 foot diamond of water, it’s adjustable for speed and for hose spray. And another neat feature about it is, is that it has a shut off that after it runs up the hose, it can get to the shut off and it will shut itself down.
The front wheel also will negotiate unions and hoses where it needs to run across that also. After a couple of hours of watching this thing crossing your yard and shut itself down, I thought this would be a perfect solution for the drought ridden area and those people who have a busy life dropping off kids, and run in here and there, and if you’re like me, you forget to do things like to shut off that hose before you leave. The automatic shut off feature I thought was fantastic.
So there you go. I thought with it following whichever direction you put the hose was kind of a neat feature. The water shut off, I thought it was great, and but in no way of my endorsing this one and particular product, you know, I looked it up online and there are positive endorsements for it and there are negative ones also. Walking sprinklers in general, I’m not sure how durable they are. I haven’t done a lot of research, that’s up to you but I though it was something really cool that you might want to check if that’s something you may need. I’m Bob Schmidt with Home Remodel Workshop.
