Now we're talking about what are the stances for -- and basically for me the stances are transitional points. It is just to get from one place to the next and yeah I have got a point about able to deliver your power of sync or put your energy into the movement. Because in combat you should never be in one place for very long, if you odd your death. We've a saying, stay still you die move you live. It is that simple. So I was talking about being rooted your stance and yes that is good training because when you are in a stance you want to be rooted, it is more about learning how to gather energy and delivering it.
So the stance is a momentary position to store and release energy as you're moving and changing your location. You see what I mean? So your stance is your footwork. If you just take step, as soon as I step I am in another stance, aren't I? So it means -- so it's always in motion and transition. Little thing, whenever I bent the joint and particularly right now, I am getting the knees, the ankle and the hip, am I storing or manifesting energy?
Okay, so if you look at ligament tendon which is a great conductor of bodily energy, so it is the best in the body. So whenever I create a job or a work for the joint, I create a potential difference in the energy in the body. So the energy tends to collect there, because there is work being done, it is needed right? That is what this Coiling Qigong is all about. So whenever I bent the joint the chi tends to what, collect. I am storing energy, I am creating potential energy, you understand?
No energy yet, well it is, but it hasn't been really used. So the trick of our lifetime is about stances. When I sync, I am already loading energy and then I can what, release, same in all of the joints. So anytime I am here, that is why I, in the beginning do a lots of these. Stance, potential energy, root as I am going to bring the energy up from here but I am storing it in the joints. While you preload, pulling arm back. See it is bent, I've loaded energy, it is loaded.
Even here this is so thicker that is not a good trigger point, that is. See how subtle it is, because when I did this all I do is I turn the wrist and I get the ligament tendon to come into play. It is under the stress or distress or whatever you can call it.
So it is what? It is wound up. I've created potential energy so that now it can be released. See what I mean? So you'll see me a lot of times I talk about using the wrist to create power. See because a lot of times what you don't see is in the movement, when I am here, I am already loading energy from one side and then I release it, does that make sense? So you can go from very general, very large muscles to very specific. Even at my fingertips, I can explode through my palm, because I am loading and then releasing energy. So a part of our chi training is the understanding of how to collect and then how to release. You see what I mean? Does that make sense?
Okay. We're going to do a couple of little drills. Some of you have done these before. And this may make a little more sense then, is I am going to start to use the whole body a little bit. This is a joint right? This sternum is a joint okay. The rib cage comes in, where it attaches cartilage right on either side. So this in itself is another joint. So I can use my chest to store and release power, same as I use my spine to store and then release the power. Does that make sense?
So we're going to do a little drill here. We're going to start storing energy and then we're going to start releasing it. So first I want you to just come down, let the body relax, bend the knees and sink the chest. So when I am here, my chest sinks and I set down a little bit. Now, I am going to bend the arms and from here I am going to explode and I am going to release. Watch my hands. It is not that. It is cracking, you know why? Because you stopped the energy. One and two. Watch. It works like a whip.
The whole time I am storing and then I can release. Watch the wrist. It snaps. Okay. This is just a drill to start to develop how to release your power. Okay. These are fudging patterns. There is many patterns. That is a fudging pattern. That's a another pattern. So there is many different ways to create this power. But they're all based on the same thing. So watch my body one more time and then we'll all do it.
So here I bend the joints, I inhale and then I release and notice how I am still rooted, I am not coming out of my stance but my legs somewhat release, okay. I am turning that potential energy and I am manifesting and I am moving out, does that make sense? So you want to sink to the chest and explode. Okay. Give it a try.
