Good day and welcome to Fruits & Roots. I am Lola Berry, and today we're going to be having a look at some handy hangover cures. We're also going to be doing a challenge and that’s the fiber challenge, but first, get ready for some digestion injection.
Digestion is the key to a healthy body. Basically if your digestion is out of whack then anything you're putting in here, ain't going to have a good effect on you. What you need to do is support your stomach and by eating dark leafy grains you're enhancing the stomach acid production, which makes it easy to digest food.
Basically, the darker the color, like this little one here, the darker he is, the more that that’s going to stimulate production, and because they are bitter, they might taste a little bit peppery but that means it's doing a good thing.
Another great tip for supporting the digestive system is oats. These boys are fantastic. They are full of soluble and insoluble fiber, so they add to bulk and they act as an intestinal broom, fantastic, start the day.
Beans are another great one, but if you ever get a tummy upset, always have a little bit of grated ginger in water. Ginger is fantastic for settling in stomach. There is nothing worse than feeling a little bit worse for wear off for big night out. So here is a few handy hangout cures.
Lemons are a great handy hangover cures. If you have it with warm water, they help to detoxify the liver and the liver is in-charge of ridding the body of any alcohol that has this. If you cut a lemon in half and rub it under your armpits, the morning after a big night, it's meant to help rid you of a hangover.
Okay so the lemon idea might be a little bit far fetched, but you know that headache, hangover thing that you get the next day, that’s caused from dehydration, and of course you can rehydrate yourself with water, but you can even do with a little bit of fruit juice.
Another great tip is to get outside and get that blood pumping, do some exercise, okay, so you're going to feel really sorry for yourself at first, but I can guarantee you that you are going to feel right as rain after.
From handy hangover cure is to digestion injection. The best way to support your digestive system is to eat fiber and the skins of fruits and veggies are a fantastic source of fiber.
So let me introduce you to the fiber challenge. The fruit in question, the cumquat, the task of hand, eat the skin on it, the aim, if I can do it then you have to do it. Right now I have done it, so it's your turn, let’s take it to the streets.
Okay, sorry the challenge wasn't all that popular, but you know what, there is a little bit of food for thought. So here are my five favorite fiber fruits: Oats, wholegrains, lentils, celery and pear, but with the skin on.
They are the best fruits and roots for supporting the digestive system. Now remember, if your digestive is in tip top shape, then the rest of your body is in tip top shape too.
