Hey everybody! It's Will Kriski here. This is Week 3 of my Lesson a Week series. Yesterday, I just released Week 3 of my Song a Week series, which was a blues song called Blues for John. In the bridge section just before the chorus, I had a chord progression that went, E7, A7, D7, G7. So I decided to create a really fast arpeggio type riff that would outline that chord for the most part with some extra notes.
The other thing I tried to do is after I ascend it on E7, I wanted to descend over the A7 without jumping back to the root or anything like that, some kind of smooth transition as I went through those four chords. So I am going to play the riff slow and then again quickly. Then the PDF tab files on my website, so you'll be able to check that out, as usual, start slow and speed it up with a metronome.
One of the other things that's a little bit tricky, in a previous lesson I showed the hybrid picking in my last week's lesson. There's a spot where in my case, I decided to use hybrid picking that just makes the riff a bit easier to pull off. But it's still pretty challenging.
So check that out and good luck with that. See you later.
