The couple weeks ago I promised to talk about this, the $18.00 camcorder that I picked up at a National Electronics Chain, the while this does not record audio. And only records 30 seconds of video, it does give you some very interesting textures that you can use in your videos. Looking to do a dream sequence, looking to replicate old 8-millimeter film footage, this thing will do it. $18.00, it will record an AVI movie that you can then work into your film and it is a lot of fun to use. Erik: Now it is time for another awesome, viewer submitted tutorial. Now this one comes in from Ethan and it is about making things appear and disappear, watch and learn.
Ethan : Hello! This is You Tube, REDHANDEDFILMS, each word was capitalized no spaces so, if you want to check it out. This is my tutorial for making cool appearing and disappearing effects with objects and people, so, this is how you do it.
Hope Indy Mogul picks me. Okay so, this is, I am still here, but this is a video tape of a toy llama and where going to make this disappear today. So, make things disappear, you have to video tape it like this, and keep the camera absolutely still on either a table or a tripod or any other sort of flat surface. So, this is how I am doing it and to make it disappear, you have to stop video taping, so you video tape for a couple of a seconds, and then you have to stop video taping, like this. And then when you video tape again, then when your stopped video taped. When you are done video taping, you have to take the object out of this shot, and then video tape again showing at the object is not gone, so if you watch it back again, it seems that the llama just disappeared.
Okay so, here is another step for doing disappear and appearing effects. As our actor, Connor is not in the shot quite yet, but he will. So you film right now then you stop that. Now when you are not filming, you have your actor somewhere, you put him somewhere in the shot and then you film again so it seems that he appears.
You can do it with different transitions to make it look cooler, whatever you want to do in your film. So were going to make him disappear and appear again, so, he disappears now, and our dog run by. And he appeared again. So if you, so you can make them disappear and appear in different spots. You can make them appear and then disappear, and then put something out else inside. So, yes, it is pretty cool.
