Hello everybody and welcome to this week’s edition of Indy Mogul Extra. What we are going to show how to do today is make some awesome ballistics gel. Now ballistic gel can be used to resemble your meat and your skin. So, when you are making a fake hands and your exploding heads, it will be perfect to mimic that sort human density that we have especially near, I have quite a bit the density in my head, it is a bit of a problem but that is neither here nor there.
Now, that current effects is very own, Michael Johnson put this video together for all of you. It is going to take about a day or two to really make this work perfectly but it is going to be awesome.

Hair nip, Mike Johnson here. Now, if you cut last week episode of backyard effects. You may have notice two things. One: Eric has strange obsession with killing his friends and two, he minced in something called ballistics gel. Now in this episode, Indy Mogul Weekend Extra, we will show you how he did it.
You are going to need two things on making the ballistics gel. One, a candy thermometer. Now, this is going to be really helpful because you are going to need to keep track at the temperature and make sure that it does not get too hot when you are cooking it. Next, we are going to recommend you get Knox original gelatin. The stuff comes in under $2.00 a box and it is much better than Jell-o could possibly hope to be. Does not taste very good though.
Now, to get started, all you are going to need is take the gelatin and mix it with water. The ratio through every one ounce of the gelatin powder; you are going to want one cup of water. One ounce, one cup. One ounce, one cup. Now, let us get started.
What you are going to do is put the gelatin powder into a large pan. And then slowly pour the water in while stirring. So when it looks, smells and very likely taste like old people, you will know it is time to put it in the fridge. Now you are going to let the gel sit for two hours in the fridge. This will allow it to hydrate or bloom. In that time I recommend you to take a nap. After your two hours is up, it is rise and shine and time to get back to cooking. So after two hours in the fridge, it is time to slowly cook the ballistics gel. Starting of at low temperature, place the gel on the stove. Make sure to stir often and beware of your temperature. You do not want to reach a 150 degrees.
The gel is best kept between 100 and 125 degrees. This will be the time to add food coloring. After spraying your desired molding cooking oil, pour the gel into it slowly. Place the mold into the fridge and wait for 36 hours.
So I just have shown you the basic how to of ballistic gels. But up next, Eric is going to demonstrate what can be done with these floppy red gels.
