Male1: Hey, I am Steve Nelson and you are watching Weekend Extra, the number one show for Mustaches and the independent filmmaking, where we cover everything from DIY special effects to Holiday Gift guys.
[Music Playing]
It is that time of the year again when our country is at war and all anybody cares about is the worthless crap that they will be buying or receiving this holiday. So, we here at Indy Mogul take a look at the best five camera list and the top budget camera list from Cnet.com, and took a request from you, guys, the viewers to decide which cameras we will be reviewing today. We will be reviewing each camera in the category of picture quality, audio capabilities, the “ease-ability”, I do not know if that is a word, but the “ease-ability” of capturing your photo gym putting it on to your computer.
And we will take a look at the value, first, we are going to start with the Canon HV20, which shoots on HD and 24P. It was requested by Eric’s love child, three Miggles Productions and Iris Vincent Entertainment. Let us see with Cnet.com’s Will Greenwald has to say about this camera.
Male2: It has a manual focus, a little dials like where the ring is not as easy as Wonder Camcorder, and it has both a Mic input and accessory hot shoot.
Male1: But image quality is really, really good and especially with 24 peon. It is just a great film look that has to it but the low light features are not really that great. It says here, normal, you know, shot gun microphone input, a headphone jack and that is about it. Capturing is really easy. You just plug a fire wire into your camera plug it into your computer like any other mini DV Camera. The HV20 cost $850.00 of BNH. If you buy now, I do not know if this is going to change anytime soon, but they will also tone a $75.00 gift card, which will be really great if BNH doubled as human tacks of dermis shock.
Larry, this is what happens when I let you write the script. No, we discuss this. I gave you a chance and I am going to have murder you. No, no buts. You say “but” one more time and murder you and your family.
Next step with the “Sanyo Exacty” which shoots an HT, Well how does that make you feel?
Male3: Because this is a small and it does not have quite as much in the way of many or focus expandability. It does fortunately, have a mic jack. It has a mini-Den, that you can always get an adapter if you have a larger mic, and I would strongly recommend that.
Male1: Now, this camera has some great quality and great depth for a camera so tiny and, you know, not big. Again, the basic head phone, microphone input. For capturing, you just drag and drop the files. You use in flashy USB technology. At $680.00 for this camera, it has a microphone input and shoots on AGD, you are getting a pretty good package here. The 8-Tech AHD is a cheap solution for un like 12 years olds, or a wise beyond their budget.
I want to make a creative masterpieces that will change the world. This guys is nothing that amazing but it is just cheap as a gallon of gas in five years. The battery life of this camera is only 35 minutes. When plugged-in you can record for however long is on your SD Card. The picture quality is really good for a $135.00, and if you keep your camera on the tripod, you can make some pretty decent movies. The thing is no microphone input at all and the arm board mic is pretty bad. Just drag and drop the files with the USB Technology. A $135.00, need I say more? Really?
The next camera is the Panasonic VDR310.
Male2. This is nice because there is a mic input and it has a couture from outing accessories. It does not have a manual focus but it does have a focus switch. See, you can sort of set a manual focus and just have it focus specifically on your target when you are aiming at it.
Male1; This camera shoots extremely vibrant colors with the three chips system it has. And I have noticed that more than some of the other cameras, the colors really come out a lot. There is a microphone input but no headphone input. It was not set up all for, you know, putting the footage into an editing program which is something you would expect from a camera. It is extremely difficult. You have to download all these weird Kodak’s and programs, and stuff.
But, I found this webpage it is really easy to you know, it gives you step by step directions on what to do. The features are amazing but the fact that you cannot really edit the footage, brings it down a ton.
The next camera is the Panasonic PVGS 320.
Male2: The microphone input is a pretty big issue because, usually, the built on mics on this really are not that good. This sort of camcorder is decent for home movies or if you just will like dress up on You Tube. If you want to do some any sort of high quality production, you need to be able to use your own audio.
Male1: The picture quality is a lot better than most cameras in this price range with the three chips system and all but when you shoot in low light in gets pretty green. There is absolutely no room for audio expansion here, camera, fire wire, computer. At $380.00, the image quality on this camera is really good and most cameras at this range do not have a microphone input anyway.
All right, put away the kids. The next camera is for all your working class heroes that have slaved to the man and saved up a little bit of doe. As always, my man, Will is going to give you the scoop on this camera, which was requested by four mousers or six gauges. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you the Panasonic DVX 100 bit.
Male 2: It is standard definition, it is a lot faster to edit standard video because you can get enough process nearly as much information. It is just a little bit generally but easier to work with, though still, it will look really good. And if you compare the HD footage you get from one of these cameras to the standard definition you get from one of these, this is going to win up, just because better optics, better sensor, you are just going to get better quality footage.
Male1: I can say enough good things about the picture quality of this camera. If you shoot in 24P with the right lighting and do some great color correction, you can really have people thinking that you are shooting on film. And, I had one bold turned on and dimmed, basically, all the way down in this windowless room and I could still see everything clear than my eye on the DVX, so in low light it is better than my eye.
The camera, also, has two XLR inputs and phantom power for these XLR inputs. That is like having a filed recording unit in your camera. What more could you ask for? Camera, fire wire, computer. Now, this camera is a little bit more than a hobby camera and unless your parents are, you know, really rich and they pay for everything for you. You are, really, not going to be able to afford this camera. It is more for people that, you know, are more grown up and have jobs and stuff. It is $2600.00, but if you are seriously, thinking about becoming a film maker, it is well worth the price.
Have a good day, everybody. I am Steve Nelson. Special thanks to Will Greenwald from www.CNet.com and all the great reviewers from www.CNet.com. Hope you guys find the right camera, all you viewers and have a good day.
