Dan Meth: Last Minute 39 is a cartoon show that I do, it comes out every week. We put it all over the web.

Bethany: Creator, animator, editor, writer, of the Last Minute 39. Dan Meth, ladies and gentleman.
Dan Meth: Hello.
Bethany: Hello Dan. I am very happy to have you on the show and you know some of these cartoons are all trying the laser hats. Watermelon knights, knight fight, sex machine and widely massive hit, Internet Persons.
Dan Meth: Internet people.
Bethany: When you come up with the concept like Internet Persons, where does it begin is it a doodle. Some of your skit music videos as a song come or.
Dan Meth: It is different every time Bethany. I think with Internet People it was a very simple idea just list them off, let just list off all the people and set it to some cartoon music and I had the idea, said “I got to do this”.
Bethany: That is wonderful things not many people do things.
Dan Meth: I think everybody does. Everyone does something. Things, people, everyone does things. You do something.
Bethany: Now, when you have all these voices in your videos, these actors, these singers. Where did they come from? Are they hoboes that you pick up off the street?
Dan Meth: You know, I do not like to use the word hobo. Most of friends who are doing voices in Last Minute are not even professional actors. They are just friends of mine who are very funny and can do voices and I think the fact that they are not actors can really sometimes give more a natural feel. I usually I do not even a script for them, so I get them into a recording studio, give them the idea for the cartoon, the plot and I kind just let them go.

Bethany: That is wonderful and then you animate it, right?
Dan Meth: Yes.
Bethany: Let’s watch the clip.
Dan Meth: I try to make every Last Minute a little different and each one should kind of stand alone in a unique style. So, I done stub emotion and there is some other just off slash, another have photo background, someone of photo shop backgrounds. How I learn flash? I taught myself flash. Yes, no prior experience, no class or anything just utopia tutorial. They come to the program and figure it out.
Bethany: Now, one does not simply become an animating prophet? He must begin somewhere? Yes?
Dan Meth: In 2001 I did a cartoon called the Smart Ass Guide to New York. You know the Smart Ass Guide led to some other cartoons that people ask me to do and eventually Fred Sibert saw one of the cartoons and he liked it so we meet and I work for Fred for about two years. I was trying to come up with the character that I can do the whole series of and so finally when they ask, like you know, Fred, our teacher said “I am not interested in another one”. Like Fred I just want to have my own 39 short shows and he said “that is a good idea, do that”.
Bethany: What is it that makes the internet better than radio or billboard ads?
Dan Meth: With the radio, their drawings did not show up. But more important I think is the internet is a very instant medium and I can do a cartoon, play it out the next week and you know very fast-paced-way-do. A very fast paced way give viewers something that you are creating.
Bethany: Mr. Meth, we thank you for coming into our show.
Dan Meth: Bethany, it is been very comfortable.
Bethany: You can call me Beth.
Dan Meth: Very strange man, it is been great.
[Laughing]
Bethany: I was once a woman. I thought so.
