Hey everybody! It is Vince DelMonte from yoursixpackquest.com and today I want to talk to you about one of my favorite weight loss tips. And when I say weigh loss, I am specifically referring to actually fat loss, so here it is.
Body builders and fitness models figure this out years ago and you do not see a lot of people doing this or even talking about it. What they would do is they do a technique called cycling their calories also known as re-feeding; there is a lot of different terms for it but this is how it typically would work.
Let us say right now you are following a 2000 calorie meal plan and that would be considered like a low day. So, your body is relying on fat as a source of energy because your calories are so low and let us you do that for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and by about, you know, Friday or so, you are going to be pretty depleted. You have depleted your carbs. You let your body out of carbohydrates and you will be feeling weak, you will be feeling tired and on that fourth or fifth day you are going to have what we call a re-feed day and that is where you increase your calories right across the board.
So, if you are eating 2000, you probably maybe have like closer to 3000 just for that one day. But just because you are eating more it does not mean you are eating bad food. You are still eating your good food but what we are doing is re-spiking your metabolism. Because when your calories are low for too long, your body will eventually shutdown. It will say holy cow, we do not have calories for a long time. And that re-feed day is going to jack up your metabolism again. It is going to help you even maybe potentially build some muscle on that day and then you go back to depleting yourself. So, three to four days of depletion, one day of re-feeding. Three to four days of depletion, one day of re-feeding. So, typically you are going to do an extra 500 to a thousand calories on a higher day and those extra calories are going be dispersed evenly throughout the entire day through proteins, fats and carbohydrates and you are just going to be in increased amount. So, try that tip and that is going to guarantee that you do not ever hit a weight loss plateau either.
