Welcome to this episode the Body Performance. I am Steve Terrano. Let us talk about weight loss and weight gain from stand point of a moving average. Now people think, gee I had a bad day of eating, I am going to gain weight or I had a great day of exercising, I am going to lose weight. But that is not how weight loss and weight gain occur it is not a one day event. It is a moving average over the course of weeks more accurately over the course of one, two, three and four months.
What that this means is as you are eating and as you are exercising, what is the average on average are you creating a calorie surplus and therefore gain weight or creating a calorie deficit and therefore losing weight. This is why I can say, one good day of eating or one bad day of eating it is going to change your weight. The same thing with exercise is the accumulation and that moving average. So, this is something you need to keep in mind when you are trying to create a calorie deficit or experienced weight loss.
It is just not one week; it is what occurs on average over the course of weeks or more accurately over the course of months. So, this is how you keep things in perspective and you do not get upset if you have a bad day of eating or a week of not exercising. You do not worry about it because it is does not change things. If things like this happened rapidly again, like I have said weight gain would occur instantly and weight loss will occur instantly but it does not, it takes time. Love your body. I will see you next time.
