Weight Loss, Metabolism and Protein

Steve Turano: I'm Steve Turano, welcome to this episode of body performance. We are going to talk about two topics for real quick. Food that's speed up your metabolism, there are no food that speed up your metabolism. I was just watching one of the host from the biggest loser and she was on TV talking about food instead of your metabolism and natural foods are better and all that stuff and that is cabbage. It does take calories to digest food absolutely. Is that speeding up your metabolism I don't call when you want?

It takes additional calories to digest proteins because of little more dent but you know what if you thing you are going to loose weight by eating a particular food because this is speeding up your metabolism its not. You don't loose weight by eating more food. You loose weight by eating less food and if you think that eating a stalk of celery is going to cause weight lose because you are using all these calories digesting it I got a new for you. We don't digest some of the calories in celery its called fiber we don't have the enzymes to do that that's why when you eat fiber you don't absorb any of the calories and if you think you are going to digest celery and causer lots of weight loss, you are not act to -- here is want the entrance and exit are only about thirty feed apart and exists below the entrance so trips down hill. Plus running a marathon only burn about 1300 calories. So, how many calories are you going to digest moving that celery for your body.

Second topic is protein. Once in for all, protein doesn't cause muscle growth. It is needed for muscle growth but the only reason the only reason muscles grow is because they are placed under a demand you are causing them to flex more intensely you are working that that's the only reason, why the muscles grow. Then the protein is used to repair the muscle and then it ends up being the bigger but you can't just eat additional protein and cause your muscles to get bigger if that one true nobody would need to workout, we would just eat protein and become larger and additional protein won't speed up the muscle repair process won't speed up the muscle growth process and won't cause you to become any bigger.
