Steve Turano: I'm Steve Turano. Welcome to this episode of body performance. What should I eat to lose weight? It's an obvious question. I mean should I eat this, can I eat that? Obviously, people want to know. And analyzing diets is very important because the better of the quality of the food, the greater the quantity that we can eat. Now, when we care about eating breakfast, everybody knows that eating breakfast speeds weight loss or helps you maintain your weight. But even think that, not eating breakfast would be better.
But here is why? If you eat dinner and exercise clock at 9, then you get up at 6 o' clock in the morning that's 12 hours without eating. That's a long time. You get up, you shower, and you give yourself together and you head out of door with a cup of coffee. Now, if it's in the office and you start to hungry, so you might began to pick a nibble on all the things that are lying around the office. Now, let's say lunch comes at noon. And you eat lunch at noon that's 18 hours, since you've actually had a meal or large meal from the night before. And you order what say, let's say it a chicken salad because we're trying to lose weight.
Chicken breast, maybe 120 calories depending on size; now a lot of calories and let us dress it on the side of the nice tea. Well, that's just not enough to really quite that you are hunger. You get back to the office and you are picking, you are looking for something to eat. You get home, you start snacking, then you have dinner, you may eat a little bit more, and you take an extra 50 or 100 calories during that day. That's an extra five to ten pounds a year and we are trying to lose weight. What's our problem? So, by eating breakfast we end up quelling our hunger. We get something in our stomachs. We put hunger at rest. We help jump start our metabolism a little bit because we know that about 10 to 15% of our daily calories are utilized in digestion. We energize our body, we put hundred at rest.
So, we will make it to lunch, we don't start out in a deficit. So, if you want to help with weight loss, you want help to maintain your weight; have some type of a decent breakfast. Oat meal, cereal, 2% milk, beagle no pre-issues toasted jelly, get something in your stomach to help pull your hunger and start your day. Love your body.
