Binge drinkers prefer beer, a recent study of over 14,000 adults showed that nearly 75% of binge drinkers, defined as those who drink 5 or more drinks in a row- drank beer on their most recent binge. Beer was also noted to be the main type of alcohol consumed in those who drink and drive.
From Georgia- Green tea may one day help psoriasis. Mice genetically predisposed to developing psoriasis developed skin lesions later after being bathed in green tea, than those bathed in water. The cells of those exposed to green tea also had lower levels of molecules that regulate cell replication, a process that is abnormal in psoriasis.
Back to Washington- Those with terminal illness wont be able to access experimental drugs. The Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled 8-2 that patients with terminal illnesses do not have a constitutional right to use medicines that have not yet won regulatory approval. Advocates for those with little time remaining are devastated.
And finally, from Sweden - Breast implants are linked to suicide. A 29-year study on over 3500 women has shown a 3 fold raised risk of suicide in those who had breast augmentation surgery. This increased risk may be related to the fact that 15% of those who have plastic surgery have body-dysmorphic syndrome or severe anxiety around their body image.
