Here is your answer for the day. One of the questions I most often get asked at my workshops is Kim what hand do I sign with, and of course, it's usually a left-handed person that asks this question, but it really doesn't matter.
If you are right-handed then use your right-hand, if you are left-handed use your left-hand. With sign language you use your dominant hand whichever one that is unless of course it's a two-handed sign. So whatever your dominant hand is go ahead and use that one.
The only time I have ever seen that come into play as an issue is with preschool teachers who are teaching the alphabet to their preschoolers. The letter C looks the correct way if I use my right-hand but if I use my left-hand then the C is backwards.
So I only notice that I think there is only two letters that actually pertains to. So that's the only time I have ever seen it be an issue if you are left-handed and you're using your dominant hands to sign. But again, it's only come to the play if you are a preschool teacher and if you want the children to see the letter in the correct shape.
So don't worry about it, otherwise you are free to use your dominant hands and be comfortable signing. Thanks! Have a good day!
