What Is Inflammation

Inflammation is a natural process. It is a natural hormonal process that goes on all the time in our bodies. And if you think about when you get a burn, how your skin gets red and might get kind of swollen, that’s a natural response. Your body is needing to get the white blood cells there and get the repair cells in the area to rebuild and stop the damage. Sometimes, the components that might be present if we have more pro-inflammatory components in our bodies than anti-inflammatory, it sets up an unbalanced seesaw so to speak, and you can get some chronic or arthritic problems because that—it’s like hyper. There’s too many. It’s a hyper inflammation state and you need to calm it down with the anti-inflammation state. If we’re not getting the components to make the anti-inflammatory side to balance it out, we’re going to be in pain and you’ll hear people talk about arthritis, bursitis, some of these common conditions that we think of that’s coming on with old age. We’re overused but maybe it can be slowed down by a better balance in our diet.
