Once I know a change is needed, what's next?
Gary Ryan Blair: Once you have identified that you want to make a change in your life, what you need to do is you need to take the time and really just go into deep contemplation for just a moment and think about what are the behaviors that you are currently engaged on. Look at the results that they are producing and then ask yourself what is it you are looking for. Obviously, you are looking for a different result.
You have got to identify the causative agents, what you are thinking, what are you saying? You got to put it down on paper what are the repetitive habits and patterns that are getting me in a mess that are repeating themselves that are not beneficial.
Make sure that they are clear and you have got them down and then don’t just focus on eliminating them because just removing weeds doesn’t necessarily grow roses. In order to do grow roses, what you have to do is you’ve got to fertilize the ground. You have to focus on new virtues.
So, part of the resolution process is focusing on vices to forego and virtues to put in place and that is what you need to do.
