Ros Sheerin: We basically cover labor so obviously they are all first time moms that come to these particular classes. We cover pain relief options that are available at this unit and anything else from there.
Nicola Curry: This is one of the best parts we have seen. I wasn't really quite sure what I was going to expect, quite a lot about pressing and breathing and how to control the pain and all of that during your labor, really.
Michael Browning: I thought it was really useful basic introduction to the sort of realities of labor and the reality of the whole process that we are going to go through. I went through quite a lot of detail and information is useful for the couples rather than the individual because it really is practical and tells you what is going to happen. So that's relevant and regardless whether you are male and female.
Severine Philardeau: I didn't really know what to expect to be honest. I think I just came because I was told well I should come and it will be useful. I think it did expect to get somebody there I could ask questions to which was the case. I expected to meet other people which I am sure will happen over the next two or three sessions.
Nicola Curry: I think next week is going to be good because we all should be getting up to the ward and going to shown around and I think that is quite important because then you can visualize where you are going to go and deliver your child and really about sort of pain relief and all of those issues and birthing pools and thing like that if that's what you wanted to.
Ros Sheerin: Usually we talk about normal labor; we also talk about cesarean section forceps so that they are prepared for any eventuality basically.
Michael Browning: Well it is a dangerous time, I think and it is a time when things can go wrong sort of 20% C section rate which obviously worrying and so that would be a nervous time, but I am thinking of a more hopeful and looking forward to than I am worried.
