Right now, we are working on arpeggios. What are we understanding is what are arpeggio?
Understand arpeggios. What is an arpeggio? Well the idea is that, when you play a chord, you do not always have to play the chords straight through, right? I do not have to play the chord like this. But I want to—I can play the chord up. Okay so, I can play that chord up. What that refers to is that right there, was an arpeggio. So if I were to play the chord as a whole note, not a whole not as the strum down, this F chord, that is the chord. But now, what if I were to break it up, instead of F, A, C built on one. By the way, there is still up way to that. I am playing the chord like this, guys. This F right here, if were to play this F quickly, that will be written out like this.
Now, what if I were to play that F---and go like this. That right there is my arpeggio. And you are literally breaking up the notes. So we have here before as the F, A, C go up as the chord, right here we have F, A, C broken up as the arpeggio.
So if you did not know what arpeggio was before, now you do. And this is something that we do everyday guys, everyday, all day. So that is the idea of in arpeggio. Now, you do not need to only write chords in arpeggio separately. You can write them together. If I were to play a song, I can play one note separately and then play the chord in another direction. So watch this. I can do something like this.
What you should do, I want everyone to do this tonight, is take a couple of chords, maybe make up your chords, maybe a new chord that you learned or song that you are working on. If the song has all chords in it, maybe what you should do tonight is just try arpeggioing those chords. See how it sounds, maybe worst, maybe it sounds better. But, at the end of the day, you will learn it. So, that is how you learn guys, trying new things.
Also, if you are not working on the song, maybe just make up your own song, right? Take your own song, arpeggiate that, right? And then, maybe that would develop into a chorus, or maybe that would give you a new musical idea for something, but that what is an arpeggio is. Give it a shot, read up on. I have a bunch of other videos on stuff like this. So, keep your questions coming and I will keep answering them.
So, there you go guys, if you did not know before, 2 minutes and 25 seconds, you do now.
