What are the Different Parts on the Violin

Welcome to violin tutor pro. Today we’re going to talk about the different parts of the violin. First part of the violin is going to be the strings and there are four different strings as you can see here. And the strings are going to seat on which is called the fingerboard which is this black piece right here. And then here we have what’s called the bridge, the bridge of strings. They’re going to seat on the bridge right here. And then down here is the tailpiece and that’s all that connects the violin together.

Up here we have what’s called the peg box. And strings are connected to what’s called the pegs. And that’s going to influence the tuning of the violin to many things, looser or tighter influence the tone. And then up here we have the scroll which is kind of like a paper scroll. And this is the top of the violin, the body. These are the ribs which connect to the back of the violin and this is all made out of wood. The violins are all made out of wood. And then we also have what’s called the chin rest. This is the place where your chin is going to sit on to hold the violin.

We also have what’s called the fine tuners. This particular violin just has one fine tuner. But some violins come with 4, 5 fine tuners and that’s going to also influence the tuning less than that of the pegs. If you guys want to learn more about the violin, visit violintutorpro.com.
