What does your ideal client look
Hey, it's Dave Saunders with you. My question for today is, have you considered what the characteristics of your ideal client happen to be? Now, this is very relevant to personal branding, because of course when we think about our personal brand, as we have discussed before, its largely based on those values that come from inside of us. As we focus on who we are or who we want to be, what we do, is then a reflection of that beam.
Anyway, so as we have got that established, then we should think about, what kinds of clients are really ideal for us? Who are the clients that we enjoy working with, that are the people who are most energetic to us? The kind of people who just charge your battery because you get to work with them.
Take a little bit of time to sit down and make a list of what those characteristics are. For example, one of the characteristics I have of an ideal client for me is that my ideal clients are responsible. They are not victims. They don't use victim language. They don't talk about somebody else forcing them to do something, or especially, somebody else forcing them to yield a certain way to me. To me, that's just victim mentality, and it has disaster written all over it. Especially, when it comes to me working with that person. It's not my ideal client, it's not my ideal social interaction. So that's not one of my ideal clients.
I am looking for people who are responsible. I have got a lot of other parameters to help me kind of understand and recognize what my ideal client looks like, and you should do the same.
Now, some people say, well, if I do that, then I am going to have less clients to work with, or if you are in network marketing, I will have fewer people that I can recruit. Well, it doesn't actually work that way. You may have noticed, there's a lot of people on this planet, and even if you are just in United States, working here in the States, there's what, about 400 million people, there are plenty of people out there, and there are plenty of people that fit at least 75% of your ideal parameters.
So take the time to consider what your ideal client looks like, and start making that the focus of your marketing efforts. Start making that the focus of your branding; how you talk, how you interact with other people on the social media sites, through your advertising, press releases, whatever it is that you are doing, keep in mind those ideal clients. Think about where they hang out, think about what those kinds of people do. Just as you focus on your own brand, as you focus on your own being, you are also going to find that you much more easily find ideal clients when you start to have parameters for what you are looking for.
So thanks for watching, I hope this has been helpful to you. For more information, visit me at davesaunders.net/blog. There's all kinds of fun stuff there, and as always, leave a comment, because I would love to hear from you. Thanks a lot.
