Lyle Hurd: Dr. Cass, we have talked, maybe done 20, or 25 of these sessions, I would like to ask you question about your schedule. You are on the road at least two weeks out of the month and that could be anywhere from Europe to San Diego. You write a book a year or every two years. You update your books, you see patients who could be -- or talk to patients who could be in Rhode Island that have found you somewhere. What motivates you to have your motor run the way it does on a year round basis?
Hyla Cass: Passion.
Lyle Hurd: Really?
Hyla Cass: Yeah, I love what I do. I think the - the common denominator here is I want to get the word out, and it's very exciting to me, for example when patients find me, and often they do that through my book or my website or through a TV or radio appearance, and they will call me and they will set up an appointment, and if they were willing, I get to see them in person. And what happens is I really make a huge difference in their lives. Or even people who just may see me on TV or go to my website or whatever, they learn -- or read my books -- they learn what they can do to help themselves. And I think that is the medicine of the future. It's happening now. It's not in the future, it's now.
People have to take charge of their own health. There is no question and I am happy that I am educating people and it's fun because I think people get better, and they - I can't tell you how many people contact me and they say I am on these medications, I don't feel well. I don't feel right. I want to stop them or I have stopped my medications and I feel a little better without them but I am still right, or help me to get off of them.
And this is what I specialize in. I help people get off the medications and onto natural products an do it in a fairly painless way, you don't have to go - or don't ever go cold turkey off any kind of medication. Go off gradually, but when you add in these vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and herbs along the way, it makes the transition so much easier. It's a lot of fun. I go to a lot of conferences and I get to listen to my colleagues, I am always learning. I heard a great conference scripts this past weekend. I heard Jeff Blaine (ph) speak and David Perlmutter who is a brilliant neurologist.
Lyle Hurd: The icons in our business.
Hyla Casss: The icons, absolutely. So I get to hang out with some very wonderful, brilliant people who are extremely inspiring, and I get to go great places. I was in Geneva last month speaking at Anti-aging conference about women mood and hormones to an international group of physicians And it was great, it was fun. They loved it. I loved being there, meeting colleagues from around the world, and seeing how much we had in common, and have we really are changing medicine from the inside. These were all MDs, and we are making a difference.
Lyle Hurd: It's actually the commitment of a doctor's daughter, right?
Hyla Cass: Yes.
Lyle Hurd: You are terrific! Thank you.
Hyla Cass: Thank you.
