Hi, this Mike Callahan, “Doctor File Finder” and welcome to your butterscotch session tutorial and what are hypertext. At its most basic, hypertext is a link for one spot to another that uses text. In many case, the hypertext is activated with just a mouse click. For example, this uses a hypertext link to create a hyperlink.
So, for example, in a text editor using html, which stands for hypertext marked up language, I have the link than I have the text. Now if we look at that in a browser, it shows you just the text but the text takes you to the link that the text points to. So, it goes to doc’s website.
If I click back, it takes me back to the link. So, all of these, creates a hyperlink using hypertext. The biggest and greatest example of the use of hypertext is the World Wide Web which connects billions of links together through the use of hypertext that’s used to generate hyperlinks.
That’s hypertext and that’s all there is to it.
