Sherri Dmyterko: After dealing with what he describes as horrific pain for the past three years, Scott Lawson is getting a new lease on life.
Scott Lawson: It started with a bit of tingling and it was really burning. I felt like hot pokers basically going in and out of my foot. It's like having your feet in a bonfire. The only way to describe is, it is a living inferno constantly.
Sherri Dmyterko: Unfortunately Scott’s story in not unique. Over half a million Canadians are suffering from a chronic debilitating nerve pain condition called Neuropathy where nerves are damaged because of diabetes, shingles, fibromyalgia and other chronic conditions.
Scott Lawson: Doctors couldn’t really test the pain I had in my feet. They told me the only thing they could do for me was prescribe me drugs like Amitriptyline, Gaba pentene, Codeine. None of them really worked because they all made me fee like I was living in a stupor zombie state constantly.
