Host: Teething, is that a disease or a problem? Does it link to diarrhea or anything. What's your opinion the word teething, what is it?
Speaker: Teething is a normal physiological process, developmental phase that the child goes through. Obviously, maybe associated with discomfort and some pain, malice, but if being, it's a normal process that everyone has to go through and nobody remembers when they get older, except the parents obviously.
There is really no reason to do anything about it. Obviously, if the child does present with serious discomfort, fails to be able to fall asleep, we can give them some medications such as acetaminophen to make them feel somewhat more comfortable, but otherwise, definitely as being a normal developmental process there is absolutely no reason to get upset or distressed already.
Host: Teething does then cause fever, a diaper rash or anything like that?
Speaker: In principle, no, the metabolism of the child maybe somewhat elevated so sometimes due the increased activity some low-grade temperature maybe noticed, but in principle, it doesn't cause any kind of serious symptoms or so.
